Useful things to send
- Corrections. A figure that has changed, a rule that differs in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, or a link that has died. Point at the specific page and line and it gets fixed.
- Calculator problems. If a calculator produces an answer that looks wrong, tell us what you entered and what it returned.
- Suggestions. If there is a cost you keep paying that nothing here explains, that is a gap worth knowing about.
Things we cannot help with
- Diagnosing a fault on your car. We cannot hear the noise, and guessing about brakes and suspension by email would be irresponsible. A local independent garage is the right call.
- Disputes with a garage, insurer or dealer. Citizens Advice and the relevant ombudsman schemes exist for exactly this and are far better placed to help.
- Telling you whether to buy a particular car. We can show you how to cost one — the calculator does that in about two minutes.
We read everything and reply to most things, though not always quickly.
